Laparoscopy
Laparoscopy is a fantastic example of minimally invasive surgery. Instruments are inserted through very small incisions on the abdomen including in the belly button. The surgeon manually maneuvers precision surgical instruments inside the body fand views the procedure on a monitor. For patients who have endometriosis symptoms, laparoscopy is an ideal way to examine the abdomincal cavity. A surgeon can view the organs, look for tumors or other abnormalities, take tissue samples and perform surgery if necessary. Laparoscopy has become the mainstay of minimally invasive surgery.
